Special Senses - Sensory Tents

What is a Sensory Tent?

image7

A sensory tent is a specially designed, dedicated area, that engages your senses to potentially provide various forms of organizing sensory input activities and a range of stimuli that can  provide a moment of comfort and calm for overactive and distressed individuals, and helping inactive individuals to feel better engaged.

What are the benefits of a Sensory Tent?

Sensory Tent Benefits

There are a whole host of benefits of a sensory tent for those who require them. The benefits can affect all aspects of their life through sensory play. By encouraging sensory stimulation and the exploration of their environment you will see the positive effects on their ability to interact and react within the world around them.

Building from this, enhancing sensory stimulation can engage different areas of the brain, helping children absorb and retain more information and better meeting the needs of the individual through play. Sensory tents can help develop users’ visual processing abilities as well as their fine and gross motor skills, facilitating day-to-day living.
